Dr. Sopagna Braje, Ph.D.

Dr. Sopagna Braje is a licensed clinical psychologist with over ten years of experience in clinical, correctional, residential, college, and school settings, working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She received specialized training in neuropsychological, psycho-educational, and developmental assessments in the identification of  ADHD, Learning Disorders, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Dr. Braje has extensive experience teaching and conducting research as a university faculty member engaged in the intersections of theory and practice. She has published numerous academic journal articles and book chapters on issues pertaining to assessment and diagnosis, identity and risk-taking among adolescents, and sociocultural considerations of parenting behaviors. She is currently adjunct faculty at the University of San Diego. 

​She utilizes evidence-based treatments such as trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, parent coaching, motivational interviewing, and acceptance and mindfulness-based therapies to effectively work with children, adolescents, and adults who may struggle with symptoms related to trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, relational difficulties, and social skill deficits. ​

She is an avid runner, a Division II track and field All-American, and a qualifier for the U.S Olympic Trials in the marathon. She leads an active lifestyle and understands the importance of the mind-body connection in addressing mental health issues. She believes that psychological balance is best achieved with a holistic approach towards wellness.
